Spriggans are the bad fairies of West Penwith, and can be found around ancient monuments and tors guarding giants’ treasure. Ugly and spiteful, they bring bad fortune, blighting crops, turning the weather, bringing sickness and sadness. Problems, blame them on the Spriggans. They might be small as a piskey on first sight, then they grow bigger and bigger and uglier and uglier and scarier and scarier.
They are shapeshifters and thieves, stealing happy human babies and leaving their miserable changeling offspring instead, or even themselves in infant form.
